Botswana Postal Services Act "Art 46 Any person who without due authority or lawful excuse, the proof of which shall lie upon him- (a) makes, alters, imitates or imports or assists in making, altering, imitating or importing any postage stamp, date stamp, card, envelope, wrapper cover or any money order, postal order, postal draft or savings bank warrant or any other warrant or order for the payment of money through the Post, or acknowledgement of deposit or any form or paper similar to that used or made under the authority or for the purposes of this Act or by any postal authority, or uses, issues, offers, exposes for sale, sells, deals in, sends by post or disposes of or has in his custody or possession any such postage stamp, date stamp, card, envelope, wrapper, cover, money order, postal order, postal draft, savings bank warrant or any other warrant or order, acknowledgement of deposit, form or paper, knowing it to have been made or altered or to be an imitation contrary to this section; (b) engraves or in any manner makes upon any plate or material any stamp, mark, figure or device in imitation of or resembling any stamp, mark, figure or device used or made for the purposes of this Act or by any postal authority, or sells, disposes of, purchases, receives or has in his custody or possession any plate or material so engraved or made; (c) makes or assists in making or has in his custody or possession any mould, frame or other instrument having thereon any word, letter, figure, mark, line or device peculiar to paper provided, used or made for any postage stamp or for any other purpose of this Act or by any personal authority; (d) makes or assists in making or has in his custody or possession any paper in the substance of which appear any word, letter, figure, mark, line or device peculiar to paper provided, used or made for any postage stamp or for any other purpose of this Act or by any postal authority, or makes, purchases, sells, disposes of or receives or has in his custody or possession any paper provided or made for the purposes of being used for any postage stamp or for any other purposes of this Act or by any postal authority before the same has been issued for public use; (e) makes use of any stamp, dye, plate or paper engraved or made for the purposes of this Act or by any postal authority, or sells, disposes of, purchases, receives or has in his custody or possession any paper or material whatever bearing an impression or mark of any such stamp, dye, plate or paper; or (f) makes on any envelope, wrapper, card, form or paper any mark in imitation of or similar to or purporting to be any official stamp or mark used for the purposes of this Act or by any postal authority, or any word, letter, device or mark which signifies or implies or may reasonably be regarded as signifying or implying that any article bearing such word, letter, device or mark has been or is entitled to be sent through the post, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a fine of P2 000,00 and to imprisonment for 5 years, and any stamp, dye, plate, paper, instrument or other material found in the possession of such person in contravention of this section shall be seized and forfeited to the State" 1989-10-06 Ministry of Trade and Industry Laws of Botswana Chapter 50:1 28 July 2023

Tolerances of Poisonous Noxious Seeds in Grain Cereals, Legumes and Oilseeds Intended for Human Consumption Regulations, 2019 "4. (1) Grain cereals, legumes or oilseeds intended for human consumption shall not contain — (a) seeds of — (i) Crotalaria (Crotalaria spp.), (ii) Jimson weed (Datura spp.), (iii) Castor bean (RicinuscommunisL.), and (iv) Corn cockle (AgrostemmagithagoL.) because the presence of noxious seeds renders the grain cereals, legumes and oilseeds unsuitable for the manufacture of food products for human consumption; and (b) seeds of – (i) (Mexican Prickly Poppy Argemone Mexicana L., (ii) Convolvulus species, (iii) Common Morning Glory (Ipomea purpurea L. Roth, (iv) Darnel Ryegrass (Lolium termulentum), (v) Cocklebur (Xamthium species), and (vi) Corn cockle (AgrostemmagithagoL.), because the presence of noxious seeds renders the grain cereals, legumes and oilseeds unsuitable for the manufacture of food products for human consumption. Chemical Weapons (Prohibition) Act "16. Schedule 2 chemicals (1) Except as authorised by this Act, a person shall not receive, transfer, import or export a Schedule 2 chemical or its precursor to a non-State Party- (a) without first notifying the Authority; and (b) unless it contains a low concentration of Schedule 2 chemicals to the extent allowed by the Convention. (2) A person shall produce, process or use a Schedule 2 chemical in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Minister and subject to making such notifications and declarations required under Part V. Acqautic (Weeds Control) Regulations 6. Procedure for obtaining import permit (1) An owner wishing to import a boat or aquatic apparatus into Botswana shall submit to the Director of Water Affairs, an application for boat registration and import permit, which shall be completed by the owner to the satisfaction of the Director of Water Affairs. (2) The Director of Water Affairs may issue an import permit and registration certificate and may prescribe such conditions as to the route to be followed by the boat as he may deem necessary and requiring inspection and treatment to be carried out on such boat or aquatic apparatus: Provided that any breach of such conditions shall render the permit invalid and the boat or aquatic apparatus subject to confiscation or destruction. (3) Fees for the issue of an import permit shall be paid as set out in the Tenth Schedule hereto. Control of Goods (Trading Margins) Regulations "8. Goods imported for sale (1) No retailer importing goods for sale shall sell any such goods unless he has delivered to the Price Controller a statement of the actual cost to him of such goods, setting out as separate items, transport, insurance and other charges included in such cost. (2) If the Price Controller is not satisfied with a statement delivered to him pursuant to subregulation (1) he may- (a) call for such further information as he may think necessary; or (b) declare that such goods shall not be sold in Botswana.
