| Liquid Fuels and Gas (Production and Supply) Act | Specifies the requirements for the manufacture and testing of non-pressurised horizontal cylindrical steel storage tanks for petroleum products. In order to reduce the number of tank sizes to a minimum it is recommended that only the capacities illustrated be used. Non-standard sizes would be negotiated with the manufacturer on approval by the regulator. Where tank capacities are required above 60,000 litres or that a chemical which may have a reaction with the steel is to be stored, calculations for the tank and corrosion allowances should be based on the British Standard, BS 5500 specification.
