Liquid Fuels and Gas (Production and Supply) Act Specifies the requirements for the manufacture and testing of non-pressurised horizontal cylindrical steel storage tanks for petroleum products. In order to reduce the number of tank sizes to a minimum it is recommended that only the capacities illustrated be used. Non-standard sizes would be negotiated with the manufacturer on approval by the regulator. Where tank capacities are required above 60,000 litres or that a chemical which may have a reaction with the steel is to be stored, calculations for the tank and corrosion allowances should be based on the British Standard, BS 5500 specification. Plant Protection (Export) Regulations These Regulations provide rules for the exportation of all plants except tung oil, tea, cotton lint, coffee, cut flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables. No person shall export or cause to be exported any plants from Malawi without a phytosanitary certificate relating to such plants. The Regulations also provide for inspection.
