Cumbersome procedures for , SPS certificates and the permits.The Ministry utilitises its own laboratories in Dar es Salaam with support from Tropical Pesticide Research Institute in Arusha which takes even more time.

Progress update note

1. At the 10th meeting of the SADC Sub Committee on Trade Facilitaion, Tanzania reported that the matter had been resolved and that a letter with details on the resolution will be submitted to the Secretariat after the meeting.
2. During the 11th SCTF meeting held on 23rd May 2013, Tanzania reiterated that the letter would be submitted. The SCTF noted Tanzania had been proving the same report since the 9th SCTF
