Inadequate Police Escort mechanism.

Status note

At the 16th EAC regional forum on non tariff barriers held in Kigali in December 2014, EAC Secretariat reported that the All Partner States were providing police escorts. This NTB is therefore resolved

Progress update note

During the 7th EAC Regional Forum on NTBs held on 27th – 29th June 2012, Kampala, Uganda, the Ministers decided that:
The Ministers decided that Partner States should:

(i) expedite the implementation of cargo tracking system; and
(ii) increase the road patrols along the highways.
